Michigan has some of the most unique fishing opportunities of any state. We’ve gathered our top four species to fish for this Summer!
Lake Trout: Lake Trout like deep and cold water! If you want to fish in the Spring or Fall, these trout can be found in shallow waters due to the cold water temperatures.
Yellow Perch: Yellow Perch can be found in a variety of depths. From shallow to deep, you’ll want to cast in various areas to find a school before setting anchors. In the Summer, you’ll find them hungriest during the morning and evening hours!
Brown Trout: Easily the most accessible fish in our list, Brown Trout can be accessed from the pier and shallow water.
Sauger: Our second easiest species to fish for, the Sauger is found near rocky shores and submerged bars in the Spring and Fall. If you’re looking to find Sauger in the Summer months, you’ll need to go to deeper water!
